Charlie Horse is a band made up of three old friends: Jonathan Skolnick, Paul Armatta, and Harry Green. The trio grew up together in Houston and were classmates through their college years at the University of Texas. Their first album, recorded in 2004, was Agnes Hums. Find more info on Agnes Hums here.

The band recorded Helen's House as a live trio in an old rented house -- called Helen's House -- in Inverness, CA in the spring of 2015. Anthony Lindsey, their talented old friend, joined them to take photos and bits of video (Anthony's site is here). Overdubs and mixes were finalized at Jon and Paul's home studios in CA and Harry's home studio in PA. The lyrics and narrative themes on the record were hashed out through walks at Point Reyes, and Inverness dinners, and countless emails. Themes and images -- foxes and coyotes, hawks and rattlesnakes, Helen and Maria, the blue chevelle, love and regret, Northern California, self-esteem and sex, loyalty and friendship -- became clear as they passed the music back and forth over the following year. Steve Savage, an East Bay-based sound engineer, mastered the album (you can find Steve here).

As always we are grateful to all of those who have supported our music through these many years. We couldn't have done it without you. Thank you.
